Onboard sound disabled because M-audio provides MIDI in/out and handling from the card. Onboard audio does not. Suggest other card that has MIDI handling with 2 in/2 out and I'd get it. Creative had one but it was only stage one, I have been unhappy with Creative since they lied about

I #remmed the line options snd-hda-intel model=generic from /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf. Cold boot, and m-audio card now shows up as Number 0 in the alsamixer. Clear progress. Tried to download a .pls file and play in audaciuos and I can see signal levels in the audacious window, but the
