And again, installed the updates to 3.5.0-34, still no parallel port on
my computer. Appearantly no one seems to care, almost a month & not a
single response.

Just installed the 3.5.0-31 kernel. Same issue. Had to roll back to
3.5.0-27 again.

/dev/lp0 doesn't exist after kernel 3.5.
Public bug reported:
On every kernel release since the 3.5.0-27 update, my system will no
longer create /dev/lp0 and therefore my printer will not work. Any
suggestions?
I'm currently running 12.10, I just installed the 3.5.0-30 kernel
update, but have to go back to *-27 instead. Any more info yo
