Apparently there was a problem with the sample output rate. I had to
`set both default-sample-rate and alternate-sample-rate to 48000 in
/etc/pulse/daemon.conf`
Apparently switching the output sample rate for devices takes about 4
seconds.

and now the problem seems gone.
This is a little weird, because I rebooted several times before, but the
problem kept appearing.

1) It has a "Quit" option. If you should not quit it, there should be no "Quit"
option in the menu.

It seems like the newly opened bug (by Llord Llama) is not exactly the
same as this one here.
I'm also affected by this one. I don't seem to have any visible problems
but the syslog is spammed by these errors.
