* this job is really delegated to the pango lib, which uses the first fc result
to determine the spacing for the *whole* family
upstream has closed the issue on gnome-terminal, saying
"gnome-terminal only shows fonts that are monospace, as reported by pango. So
if this font doesn't show up correctly, it's a problem in the font (or pango),
not gnome-terminal."

solo only. the result is appearance of a tiny menubar (at least with a 4k
resolution) when any

libreoffice-{kde,plasma,gtk,gnome}* packages. nevertheless, it looks
terrible on a 4k monitor (ie not respecting the font and dpi sizes).

ok, i purged all nvidia related packages and installed your request. the
packages now are

interesting detail: on certain machines with fglrx launching of the
mathematica frontend does not crash x11 immediately, also not upon exit.
but, after the frontend has been left opened for several hours, a simple
disturbance, like starting firefox, crashes the x11 and lightdm comes up

working with a mathematica notebook for some time, it still crashes the
xserver on exit. this time xorg left some trail in the Xorg.0.log.old:

update: i tried to fix the zoom factor in variable to whatever % i get
in the fit width and height mode, but it does not help too much since
switching from cursor in text to selected image triggers page redraws
anyway... is this neccesary? i guess this could be optimized away in
order to increase

forced to use large images (up to 1 pixels wide). one small
iritating bug made the waiting for page refreshes even more annoying:

gnome-sound-applet does not handle correctly the mouse scroll events (at
least when running in xfce). the volume notification opens up but it
maybe inches one notch ahead and then get's stuck there. actually, each
time slider is manually opened by clicking on the laudspeaker
