I am not using WLAN (using network cable) so I switched off WLAN in Settings.
Now the problem is gone. The mouse moves as expected. Very nice.
I also tried to monitoring the kernel log. But I cannot understand it, because
I am simply a user :-)

After upgrading to Ubuntu 19.10 from 19.04 I noticed the mouse moves
unequally/choppy. I did a fresh install (deleting and overwriting 19.04 with
19.10).
For example: When I want to go to a button the cursor sometimes stops on the
way to it and moves on milliseconds later.
Today i tested Solus MATE 2017.04.18 with Mate Desktop 1.18.0.
There Firefox also freezes when trying to open "Downloads" after downloading a
file.

Canon Lide 25 (Flat bed scanner
Canon MX 925 (Multi function device)
Simple Scan is great and easy to use. But i miss good scan results for
color-scans.
