After upgrading to Ubuntu 21.04 from 20.10, connecting to VNC server
will not work from some clients. Prompts for password, then the client
gives the error message "The connection closed unexpectedly." Gnome-
remote-desktop package gives the following error message in syslog:
I should add that mine wasn't a fresh install of Ubuntu 17.10, but
rather an upgrade from 17.04 (do-release-upgrade).

I'm seeing this issue as well. I can also confirm that copying doesn't
work when Terminal is opened by right-clicking the desktop and selecting
Open Terminal, but DOES work when I've opened it by other means.
