I don't know about firsthand, but I did submit my proposal to an
upstream mailing list around the time of my unity design post. As far as
I'm aware there were never any replies.

UPDATE: So, I plugged up my laptop to my TV to watch a video and
fullscreened it. Turns out, it prevents the mouse cursor from appearing
(this happened in the single-monitor scenario) but even after moving the
cursor to the non-fullscreened display, the cursor still did not appear.

Seems it's gone away with the latest version of Unity. Possible it was
associated with the text glitch on the far left character.

I think this is what just happened to me. Had a LightDM update earlier
and upon restart got the desktop with nautilus' menu across the top.

Debug gave me no information on the bug happening. The screen cut off
and no new information popped up. Do you still want the largely useless
logs?

This log was created by choosing stop process in System Monitor and
running the given command at prudent intervals (so marked in the log so
you can understand what was going on) Both logs were obtained from a
fresh restart of the computer.

I'm attaching to log files for perusal in case it might help. This first
one is from killing the gnone-settings-daemon in system monitor and
running the debug command as you say.

Yay for more updates: Broke my Oneiric install last night, decided to
axe all my settings files (except Chromium, Firefox, Banshee and my
games) and reinstall Oneiric. I updated everything last night and

minutes. (settings are
UPDATE: Last night, things worked correctly after some updates. But,
after suspending my computer for the night and resuming in the morning,
the bug returned.
I will do some more tests to figure out if I can add more data.

I can fill in the details: When I run the computer, if I leave it idle

the screen to shut off at a half hour at the earliest.

How do I fix it then? I understand that Totem should and is disabling
the screensaver. But I have tried everything and the screen still cuts
out at ten minutes. I've tweaked all the GUI settings I can find, at one
point, deleted all my config files and still this persists.

In my up-to-date oneiric, screensaver is acting errantly. I switched the
