Before that, I never had 'connect' button grayed out.

I experience the same problem, but with integrated graphics card - Intel
HD 4600, ubuntu 15.04 64 bit
For me, it helps when in boot selection I pick the option of booting
with Upstart. Otherwise, it is black screen 100% time, no matter if I
change kernel or not. Windows starts without problem
Happens to me, almost everyday, on two computers. Ubuntu 15.04,
unchanged kernel.
One is Thinkpad T430, the other is pc built in from parts. Both run 64
version, on intel cpus.
I have to choose "connect to a hidden network". Unfortunately, when my
