Oh, I spoke too soon. It seems, meld now uses gtk3, and the workaround
of having GtkComboBox::appears-as-list = 0 in /usr/share/themes
/oxygen-gtk/gtk-2.0/gtkrc no longer works.

It has to be fixed in gtk. Period. Arguing further is useless (as is posting
new, but identical, crash reports).
This bug is marked as resolved, upstream and that is how it should be.
