OK, now chromium starts, but when I try to access some website that
requires the certificate on my smartcard, it seems like it's doing
nothing to access the smartcard, so to speak.
Eveything works OK on my non-snaped Firefox.

I've tested this again with the updated instructions:
$ sudo snap refresh --channel candidate/hwacc chromium
$ snap run chromium --disable-features=UseChromeOSDirectVideoDecoder
--enable-features=VaapiVideoDecoder
And it also worked OK.
The only thing is that I'm seeing the following warnings

Hi Olivier. Sorry to insist, but it's been now 4 months since the last
news on this and I think people would like to know if this is still on
the roadmap, or if those who want video decoding acceleration should
move to Chrome or PPAs.
Thanks again!

Hey Marco!
I don't see any meaningful information in those logs. Maybe it's related to the
fact that I have my external panel attached to a TB16, a Thunderbolt 3 dock.
I will keep investigating and open a bug when I have time. Thanks!

previously I could not use my dual screen configuration with 150%
scaling for the internal panel and 100% for the external, but now It
seems to work OK. Thanks for
Installed the nvidia-340 package from trusty-proposed and it did solve the bug.
Didn't observe any regressions in my 3.13 kernel installation.
