Right now, all sources list files will be rewritten regardless, even if
they have not changed. This loses their original last-modified
timestamp, obscuring sight of what files actually changed.

"This was a bug fix, the behaviour previously was incorrect, now it is
as intended. The Annotations in your PDF file have no /Flags entry, in
the absence of that, the default value (0) is used.
This means that bit 3 of the Flags value is 0, from the PDF Reference:
While this has been fixed in poppler, it still remains unsolved in
inkscape after 8 years. So difficult to hunt down?

Ok D'oh... for me it was the Secure Attention Key feature of Trinity (KDE3)
KDM.. somehow the tsak background process was b0rked with the last upgrade to
kdebase-trinity-bin-3.5.13-2debian0~pre49+9 .. thankfully it can be disabled.

Ok, after a deep look into this it seems the usblp kernel module does not set
the ieee1284_id proper, which makes system-config-printer-udev skip the device
even though the serial number is present..
I tested this for my setup (after going in circles for a good while) with:
# watch -d -n 1 'cat
Unfortunately, the libreoffice transition doesn't seem to magically have
created a GUI option to knock that haunted autorecovery nag screen down.
The -norestore switch is a despicable kludge for nerds.
