It's interesting, I used to suffer from LP 946311 on the same hardware. The result of that bug was that I couldn't turn on the laptop with a monitor plugged in, but hot-plugging later worked fine. Since sometime in the raring cycle (iirc) that problem was solved. It's been perfect up until just
