I'm not sure if this will help, but I noticed that in Gnome's Image
Viewer app (eog), when I right-click and select open containing
folder, it highlights the file in Nautilus. I guess that should be
possible in Firefox too.

In Windows, when you select Open containing folder from the firefox
Downloads window, the directory is opened with the downloaded file auto-
selected. This doesn't happen in ubuntu, and causes users a headache to
find the downloaded file.
