I can open the menu of the Network Manager in the notification area (top
right), but when I select any item in the menu, nothing happends.

I quite often get this problem with 12.04.
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770S CPU
my Xorg.0.log says this when it does not work (see attachment for when
it does work):

[12.516]
For me, this problem went away after upgrade to 12.04.

gedit fails to start on first try, but does on the second

I have a PDF document (made by LibreOffice writer in Ubuntu). When I
view it in Evince, it looks fine. But when I print it, some characters
are replaced by a hollow rectangle.
The same PDF documents prints correctly in ePDFviewer.
The printer is HP Laserjet 4200n.

I am able to partly reproduce this bug on one machine, but not on
another.
Now it does show the titlebar and window controls as it should, but the
menu bar is still below.

In the image viewer Eye of GNOME, the file handling options are very
limited. You can only Move to trash and copy (by using Save as...
which is a bit non-obvious).
Make all file handling functions in Nautilus (those you find on the
context menu for a file) in Eye Of GNOME.
