I've got this issue as well. Automatic login, no requirement for a password on the screen lock. When resuming from suspend, the password is required. The user account used for this is not an administrator user. Fresh install, no changes.

The only option I can find to fix this is to disable the lock-screen completely, which I don't want to since I still want it to be an option to manually lock it. Setting Privacy > Screen Lock to off doesn't affect this behavior at all. The solution seems to be to use dconf-editor and change org.gnome.desktop.screensaver.ubuntu-lock-on-suspend to false.
