This was a long time ago. Laptop is long gone, so is that release. I
didn't realize this bug was still open. I can't see any reason not to
close it at this point.

Title:
  can't suspend or hibernate

Status in “pm-utils” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: pm-utils

  I'm not sure if this is the proper package to file this bug against
  but at least "pm-suspend" the script that is failing is in this
  package.

  The symptom is that after upgrading from 8.04 --> 9.10 I could no
  longer suspend or hibernate. After poking around I found this in my
  "pm-suspend.log";

  <snip>

  usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00powersave suspend suspend: success.
  /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/01PulseAudio suspend suspend: sudo: pacmd: command
not found
  sudo: pacmd: command not found
  Returned exit code 1.
  Tue Nov 10 09:41:53 CST 2009: Inhibit found, will not perform suspend
  Tue Nov 10 09:41:53 CST 2009: Running hooks for resume

  </snip>

  It seems that my system didn't have the "pacmd" command. So, after
  installing "pulseaudio-utils" I tried to suspend again and all works
  now.
