Pictures in /Pictures/boh are a fresh copy of some (same names) in /Pictures.
The old ones have a visible thumbnail, the new ones have a bad thumbnail.
Also the old files in /Pictures have a good thumbnail while the new ones have a
bad thumbnail.

refused. Maybe smbd is not running.
In fact smdb is not running. Failed at boot.

on this computer, different partitions i have also ubuntu trusty and
utopic and both are ok. also on vivid the problem arrived after some
update, i don't remember when.

cheese same problem changing webcam resolution with internal webcam on HP620
and external philips vesta on ubuntu 14.04 amd 64.
works fine with 14.10 and 15.04 installed on same hardware different partitions.
note in 14.04 cheese preference lists many photo and video resolutions from
1600x1200 to
still having the problem w Simple Scan and ubuntu 14.04 w all fixes. The
problem does not happens with XSane, but after using Simple Scan also XSane
does not find the scanner.
