I can confirm this too. And this only happens if I open a directory from
a menu on the panel for example typicaly from the Places menu. If I open
a directory in a new Nautilus window from the desktop or from an other
Nautilus window there isnt a second button on the panel.

  When opening nautilus there are two buttons on the panel taskbar.
  one is correct, the other disappear after 10 sec and it is called "opening 
home folder".
