For those experiencing the slowness problem:
I've observed that if you turn on USB Debugging (by enabling Developer
Mode) on your android phone, the mtp file transfer then becomes
considerably faster.

This happens on Xubuntu and UbuntuMATE variants of 18.04.01 LTS too, its
high time that this needs a resolution.

It is 2017 and this old and high-priority bug is yet to be fixed even on
the latest LTS version. Any progress on this?

The quantum release was otherwise great, except for this little glitch.
There is a similar bug raised on Mozilla support forum

surprised that the issue lied at the Canonical end. It looks like you

@Mörgæs - I don't think this issue appears at all in 16.04. Since I
upgraded to 16.04LTS today, this issue has got resolved. I noticed that
the network-manager package was updated too during the upgrade, so the
fix might have come from there.

I can confirm this issue on Xubuntu 15.10 too. Using Joost's method (of
not using "New Mobile Broadband connection") seems to work sometimes but
not always and that too doesn't survive reboots. I'm in the process of
finding out more information/workarounds for this issue.

the repo code for this is and how can I test the evince package and send

Public bug reported:
The "Recent" menu in Evince on Ubuntu Trusty Tahr stays empty, no matter
how many files I recently opened. This was happening in Unity DE and
even after I installed ubuntu-gnome-desktop, the behavior is persisting.

After adding the above entry, the disconnects have stopped happening on my

Public bug reported:
Steps to reproduce:
Step-1: Turn on the mobile-broadband connection by clicking its connection-name
in the network-manager icon on top.
EXPECTED: Connection must be turned on and connection-name should not
change. (In my case it is Tata Indicom (Photon+) Connection).
I'm having the same issue on raring (amd64). The first time, it connects
and shows the correct name of the mobile networkid (Tata Photon+), but
when I reconnnect it displays random weird names such as Label Empty,
CDMA or even (nothing at all). On the second/third connection
attempt, the
