I just marked this bug as duplicate of bug #1089966 . It seems that the
jump is relative to how much scrolling is done on the other application.
If on the other applicatino you scroll a lot, but then scroll back to
the original position, gedit will behave normally. Basically, it would

I do not think it is specific to chrome, the bug reproduces with other
applications such as Document Viewer.
When I use the scroll wheel in gedit, if I have switched from another
application it often jumps somewhere distant in the document instead of
scrolling as it should. As a workaround, I
