The suggested solution has not worked for me either. This issue is becoming more urgent because Ubuntu One is dropping support for the current mechanism of synching in late Feb. Already their tinkering caused the server to think that I deleted all of my notes and proceeded to delete all the notes

I had the very same problem and after many hours of jacking around with this I found something that works. So you may try this and see if it works for you. Edit - Preferences - Synchronization - Clear Edit - Preferences - Add-ins - Synchronization Disable them all and exit tomboy. Restart
