I couldn't confirm this using a Raring liveCD. Please try a Guest
Session to see if something has gone wrong with your config. You can
do that from the user login screen.

it works to search the body. No idea how it got corrupted.

I see Body as an option from the first drop down.
You can also use the other search option which should be builtin, or Ctrl-K
Do you not see the Body option?
