after using the comment #12 the sound issue was fixed but I still heard some "scratch" when the laptop was startind or if the sound level was too high and I had to set upd lower. I did some tests with others distros and I had the same issue with the Mint Distro (Version 15, Ubuntu based version)

i have a Fujitsu S7110 and i have no sound (speakers or headphones) after i restart on battery. i find that happened because on battery the sound sistem are somehow deactivated. a workaround is this: 1. sudo nano /etc/rc.local 2. insert the following lines before exit 0: echo 0 | tee /sys/module/
