I have this problem since I think 12.04. Yesterday I reinstalled the 64 bit version of Ubuntu on my macbook and while only had 11.10 on cdrom I started with this version to upgrade to raring. On 11.10 I didn't see the problem (but also didn't test this version much) from 12.04 on I see an error
