Public bug reported: Just installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on Powerbook G4 (powerbook5,4) I have. Previously, I've spent hours researching and troubleshooting "no sound" problem on this box, without a success, following all instructions published on the subject of powerpc sound troubleshooting, etc. Decided to go for the help from community having 12.04 TLS freshly reinstalled and problem reported as a bug.
Details generated with 'ubuntu-bug -s audio' should be attached to the bug. Ideally, Ubuntu OS loaded on Powerbook system from a Live CD should be capable of correct audio handling (not the case since 11.04), I don't see why not. Thank you. -ez ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: alsa-base 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-23.36-powerpc-smp 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-23-powerpc-smp ppc AlsaDevices: total 0 crw-rw---T+ 1 root audio 116, 1 Apr 13 19:14 seq crw-rw---T+ 1 root audio 116, 33 Apr 13 19:14 timer AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24.
