In lieu of trying to get the hdmi sound from my Radeon card to work, I
have elected to just connect my on board sound card to my monitor until
such time as the bug is fixed. thanks

Hi Andre,
The open-source Radeon driver disables hdmi audio by default. Please try
the proprietary driver or boot with radeon.audio=1 (experimental).

Hi David,
Tried both using the proprietary driver from fgrlx and adding the
radeon.audio=1 to my grub.cfg file in terminal but still no sound.
