Christopher, I submitted the information through apport like you asked. Since I'm not familiar with this, and it took me some install steps, I hope all went well. I also realised that with my last message, I may have followed the wrong link, hence tested the wrong versions. That is why I did

Hi Christopher, ORIGINAL BUG SUMMARY: As you'll remember I reported a bug for the XFCE desktop (Xubuntu 14.04LTS). [1] On one box (Xubuntu 14.04LTS amd64) with a dual screen setup it was not possible to place icons on the right hand screen. Icons wouldn't stick and return to their original

Hi Christopher, OK, will do as soon as I got some time to spare. Don't worry, it won't be weeks but give me a day or so. One question before I start though: can I check this as running it as a Live CD you think? All the 3 boxes that are showing the reset/ move all icons to complete left upon

Dear Christopher, Thanks for getting back to me on it. Short answer is yes, it is still an issue. It was gone for a while, and I suspect it had something to do with a cairo update we got. However, that is my impression, I'm no dev of course, but we all thought it funny that this update came

Goth Queen, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com

With the update I received today (libcairo2*) the behaviour I described earlier disappeared. It is now possible to place icons on both screens/ desktops. On top of that this update also gave me a staggering speed increase! Hence, I think this bug report can be closed, the issue is solved. --

I can confirm this (Xubuntu 14.04 LTS). If the NVidia driver is used the placement grid extends over both screens, if the XOrg nouveau driver is used, it only is present on the primary (in my case left) screen, to which my additional screen is placed right of... Both my screens are the same
