Public bug reported:

Hi,

I have initially open a question and it was suggested to me to open a
bug report. I am trying to install the include files for OpenGL
development with the nvidia 331 driver but the packages nvidia-331-dev
and nvidia-331-updates-dev just do not carry those files under Trusty
(they did under Precise Pangolin). It is therefore impossible to develop
OpenGL applications.

Please see below the original email for a more detailed explanation.

Thank you so much for your efforts !

Hi

I am new to Linux system administration. I am trying to install the
header files for OpenGL development from NVIDIA.

I have installed nvidia-331-updates-dev , the documentation of this
pacakge for Precise Pangolin lists the foillowing files:

/usr/include/nvidia-331-updates/CL/cl.h
/usr/include/nvidia-331-updates/CL/cl_gl.h
/usr/include/nvidia-331-updates/CL/cl_platform.h
/usr/include/nvidia-331-updates/GL/gl.h
/usr/include/nvidia-331-updates/GL/glext.h
/usr/include/nvidia-331-updates/GL/glx.h
/usr/include/nvidia-331-updates/GL/glxext.h
/usr/include/nvidia-331-updates/cuda/cuda.h
/usr/include/nvidia-331-updates/cuda/cudaGL.h
/usr/include/nvidia-331-updates/cuda/cudaVDPAU.h
/usr/share/doc/nvidia-331-updates-dev/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/share/doc/nvidia-331-updates-dev/copyright
/usr/share/doc/nvidia-331-updates-dev/include

(see http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise-updates/i386/nvidia-331-updates-
dev/filelist)

which include for example GL/gl.h

the documentation of Trusty lists only

/usr/share/doc/nvidia-331-updates-dev/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/share/doc/nvidia-331-updates-dev/copyright
/usr/share/doc/nvidia-331-updates-dev/include

(see http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/amd64/nvidia-331-updates-
dev/filelist)

what is the correct why under Trusty to install the reguired includes
files, as under precise Pangolin ?

Thank you so much for your kind attention !

Best Regards,

Andrea
