Title:
Dialog box asking for password blocked access to internet via a
  dongle.- no password succeeds

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I have a T-Mobile 1750 dongle.I have added a rule as per forums for this
dongle. Made no different with or without. Mostly it works without
problems. However, sometimes, I get a dialog box in which a password is
requested. If I enter the password in the Connection Details or sudo password
that fails. This line appears in the system logs:
  get_secret.flags: 'assertion is_secret_prop(setting,secret_name error) failed'
Sometimes deleting the connection and starting with a new connection works.
Sometimes removing the dongle and replacing works. Sometimes nothing works but
then it starts working again. This is a recurrent problem from 2009 onwards.
