Installed today's daily live (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-
live/20141003/utopic-desktop-i386.iso) in VirtualBox - the bug is really
fixed.
But I can't understand why MD5SUM of http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-

@ apw - always nice to confirm something's working - updated a non-
booting install - got the new systemd - boots properly now - thanks

Thanks Andy! I'm taking over from here and revert the original removal
and replace it with the || true solution that was done in the SRU (I'm
glad my paranoia was appropriate in that case :) ) and in your
attachment.

Bah that is not being installed correctly, and my test system has an old
conf file linkage for that name which made it look like it was in there.
Sigh. Will fix and re-upload.

Ok this looks a lot like a video card detection race condition which
should drop us into fallback, which seems to be broken currently. @Elfy
could you test with the attached file installed in /etc/init/udev-
fallback-graphics.conf and let me know (here) if that gets you to
lightdm.

Yep - that got lightdm started - logged in to desktop fine.

Ok based on that confirmation I am shoving this over to systemd (which
contains udev). This is basically fallout from removing this file to
try and fix LP#1367241, reinstating this file with the fix used for SRU
to the LTSs for that bug seems to fix it for the reporter here.
