Title:
Xorg freezes after starting
Seeing the same problem in Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS.
Interestingly, the problem doesn't appear if I start gnome-do under
strace:
strace -f gnome-do
Attaching strace to an already-hung gnome-do session doesn't fix it.
Running gnome-do under strace, then killing strace leaves the gnome-do
session
I have the same problem. For me it started after I upgraded to Xubuntu
14.10 (from 13.10). However, it only happens when I create a new user
that has a fresh gnome-do configuration. For my existing user gnome-do
still works fine.
I tried removing and purgin the gnome-do-plugins package but that
I tried copying over the entire ~/.local/share/gnome-do folder from my
existing account where gnome-do works fine to a new account, but that
does not fix the problem, so the problem is not (only) a config setting
in gnome-do.

By the way, another workaround to kill gnome-do is: press ctrl+alt+f1,
log in in the text terminal by typing your username and password when
prompted, run pkill gnome-do, press ctrl+f7

I have a number of machines running 14.10 and I am only observing this
bug on one of them. I'm not sure what's different about the one machine.
I have not found a work-around.
