I just faced the very same bug on Ubuntu 14.04 while installing software updates among which there was a new kernel in the crash logfile it seems that the kernel which the system was trying to install was kernel 3.13.0-57-generic ( sorry but I'm not very used to ubuntu and I'm not 100% sure
