I tested the Ubuntu Software Center to see if it would download a random app properly. I chose GVIM to download. During the download process, the thermometer bar did not display. Instead, all that showed was a short yellow vertical line. The short yellow line did move from left to right, but it was not as visible as a full thermometer bar. Because I am familiar with the Software Center, I could see that the download was progressing, but it would be confusing for a new user of the Software Center. Here are the two machines I used: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/lyz/LenovoG575 http://zareason.com/shop/UltraLap-440.html 8 GB RAM, Intel i5 4200U ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 Package: software-center 13.10-0ubuntu6 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.18.0-12.13-generic 3.18.4 Uname: Linux 3.18.0-12-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.16-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 CasperVersion: 1.350 CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Sun Feb 8 14:34:24 2015 LiveMediaBuild: Xubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet" - Alpha amd64 (20150208) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: software-center UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/1419553/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
