Title:
suspend/resume fails to wake up screen

Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers-340 package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I frequently use suspend on my desktop, from some point after the
15.04 upgrade (and still after upgrading to 15.10) I can suspend the
machine but when I press the power button to resume the machine
appears to be up but the screen never powers on.

I can connect from another machine via ssh so it is up and running, in
order to resolve the situation I have to reboot the machine either by
a long press of the power button or running reboot from the ssh remote
  session.

  I'm running the nvidia driver - 340.93 from nvidia-340

I'm attaching an extract from /var/log/syslog from when the suspend
takes effect through to the reboot
