I Updated to Ubuntu 15.10 with a full new installation. My monitor
(Viewpoint, VP 712 DI, 17") that worked perfectly with 14.04 has bouts of
flipping from normal performance to pixelated nonsense images.
I uninstalled 15.10 and reinstalled 14.04
Thanks for your willingness to help me.
Because I had installed the "tweak"program, and apparently used it
incorrectly, I messed up my 15.10 installation to the point where I
couldn't use my computer. So I reinstalled 15.10 and made numerous
attempts to upgrade my BIOS---with no success.
efmesch, to advise, you don't have to apport-collect further unless
specifically requested to do so.
