The scanner -CanoScan Lide 220- indicates input/output error... Not working...
The scanner stays on the sheet's bottom and is frozen off...
My system:

sane-find-scanner -q
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a9 [Canon], product=0x190f [CanoScan],
chip=GL848+) at libusb:003:002
could not open USB device 0x1d6b/0x0002 at 003:001: Access denied (insufficient
permissions)
CanoScan Lide 220 chip now: gl848+ !
Older CanoScan Lide 220: gl124.

1) To clarify the Bug Description, were you using Xubuntu 14.04 when this
worked?
2) In 14.04, were you using XSane and/or Simple Scan?
3) In 14.04, were you using the same computer as with 16.04?
4) In 16.04 does Simple Scan
