Is the 3rd party driver security option necessary to be turned on or off at my 
end for the best operation?
Am using the upgraded 16.04LT from 14.04LT on an AMD 64 bit system  The 14.04 
was working great until the upgrade tried to happen.

Title:
  tried to upgrade to version 16.04 but something went wrong and having
  problems getting started back up---won't accept passwords and wasn't
  able to get into BIOS, etc.  will keep trying at this end.  Was having
  trouble with the 3rd party driver on/off part and now asking for the
  ADM password before all starts up.  package tex-common 6.04 failed to
  install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script
