Public bug reported:

When Thunderbird is first started, the folder pane is blank. (See
attached screenshot.)

When it is started the second and subsequent times, the folder pane is
displayed properly.

This was happening for me with 16.04 too.


$ lsb_release -rd

$ apt-cache policy thunderbird
thunderbird:
