gnome-software doesn't show ubuntu icon in the ubuntu
duflu confirmed as well that he's getting this on upgrade (upstream icon
instead of ubuntu one). New installs are fine.
And indeed, we should so the same for ubuntu on wayland session.

Could you be more specific for what you're seeing?
When I log in to 'Ubuntu' (but not 'Ubuntu on Wayland'), I see the
Ubuntu Software name and icon in the GNOME Shell Activities Overview.
