Public bug reported:

after formatting a USB-Stick with gnome-disks, i mount it as a user in nemo but
the rights are only for root.
i can't change that with sudo chown or in nemo with root permissions.

how can i format a USB-Stick and use it?

i know that this wasn't a problem some time ago when i last used gnome-disks.
seems to be a new bug?!

i use 16.04.03 with all updates installed and the problem is with ext4
or fat format
