Luckily for me, my headphones were culprit. Swapped with another pair
and have audio again. Marked this issue as "Invalid" since it was
caused by hardware and not Audacity or alsa.

pavucontrol shows signal going to headphones when they are plugged in,
but nothing is playing. If I remove the headphones from the jack,
pavucontrol then shows signal going to speakers (which are working).

Opened alsamixer and ensured that no channels are muted (all are showing
the green oo symbol), and that all of the channels have volumes as high
as they will go. Still no luck in getting audio to pipe back through
my headphone jack.

Additionally, if I unplug my headphones I hear audio over my laptop's
speakers. I cannot listen to audio over the speakers at work however,
so this is not a helpful workaround.
