The same problem here with Ubuntu 18.04. Pushing the "Add" button after
giving a caldav address to the gnome-calender isnt possible.

This affects me too. I am on ubuntu 18.04 lts. Trying to add a caldav url to
gnome-calender, the app doesnt let me push the button "add", although I am
pretty sure the url is correct.
My caldav provider is www.posteo.de
