We are sorry for the hassle caused, but the fix is currently being in
the final stage of backporting and will be complete backporting this
week, and you can track them at

It is hard to feel any enthusiasm from Ubuntu to backport the fix.
Considering how many issues I have run into trying to use Ubuntu WSL image, I
am not sure Ubuntu has any real interest in WSL. Just like Apple is not really
into that boot camp thingy.

I am experiencing the same issue with the installation of WSL 2 and
bionic on Win10. I recently updated everything. This could be unrelated,
but how do you know when it is fixed?

I have submitted the SRU to backport the fix back to bionic and xenial.
It is usually expected to be completed in 2-3 weeks

SRU process will take some time, but yes, it will make to both bionic or
