The resume results in a black screen with some colored lines at the top of the display. The machine appears to be hung i.e. no VT and a hard reboot is necessary. Temporary Solution: Normal resume behavior may be achieved by either 1) disabling desktop effects or 2) setting the compositing type to XRender, which is unfortunately much more limited in functionality than OpenGL.
