Unfortunately, LO 4.4.3 is not available via an official Ubuntu
repository.
Also, as WORKAROUNDs are not fixes, this would not fit the criteria of
Fix Released as defined in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Status .

This was fixed in the LibreOffice 4.4.3 release.
And another workaround is to highlight around the table and then paste.
