** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 556323 Disable mobile broadband has no effect on most modems ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 816400 NM can't power off Ericsson F3507g WWAN (but can power it on) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager-applet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/783324 Title: 3G connection entries in the menu when mobile broadband disabled Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I don't expect to see the mobile broadband connection in the menu before mobile broadband has been enabled. It also seems to work without mobile broadband is enabled. I'm not sure what the downsides are with this behavior. The workaround for bug #769497 does not work at least. And it might be that the modem is not properly turned off when using the connection without enabling mobile broadband. I'm using an Ericsson MBM module. This might be caused by the fact that it has support for both PPP through ACM and DHCP using usb_ncm module.
