I am having the exact same issue, and am also on an HP device. Problem started happening somewhere in the last month. Anyway I solved it with the following values for the Speaker Element: [Element Speaker] switch = mute volume = zero (note the 'volume = zero', which was not suggested in the

IDT codecs have analog-loopback mixer widgets, but we haven't cared about it, so far. Let's set them. This will avoid also possible wrong routes for the input paths.
