In the next CUPS package release in Saucy the timeout will be increased
to 60 (= 30 sec). Then this problem should go away. But note that the
real fix needs to get done in Upstart.

Adding upstart task as Steve Langasek tells in comment #7 that an
Upstart bug needs to get fixed to eliminate the need of a wait loop.

line (near the end)
timeout=6
by
timeout=60
After that, reboot your machine. Check whether no new cupsd failed to
create /var/run/cups/cups.sock, skipping automatic printer
configuration message gets added to

- does not get a new ../upstart/cups.log; seems to be logged randomly only:
