I usually work with two screens placing thunderbird on the small one, on the
left. When i have another application over this one, and i click on the desktop
notification (1 mail in foo mail account) the dock bar appear for half a
second, but keeps in the background, and
@jofa: the workaround is to create a line in /etc/fstab for your NFS
share, with the 'user,noauto' options. That will let you mount and
unmount it, usually by just clicking on and icon. (If you need more
information, please seek it in the 'questions' section or in the forums
because it's outside
Tested with 12.10 - same situation on my MB (also non-wifi) Rear green
line and front panel didn't work.

newest drivers from nvidia. It doesn't remember the setting between
reboots, either, which is very frustrating. And the only reason we did
not report it to nvidia as I recall is we could find no means to do so.

I get tear-free video playback with disabled metacity compositing and
enabled EXAVSync in the xorg.conf file under Unity 2D and Gnome
fallback. Disabling compositing alone doesn't solve the tearing problem,
it only works with enabled EXAVSync.

automatic (server side) compositing even when client side compositing is
