Based on your description, data from 11.10 seems to be left and is
confusing the behavior of 11.04. So to help us understand the nature of
the problem better, and provided that the problem did not get resolved
I can confirm this bug on 11.10 x64. I have just burned a DVD with 613 JPGs
onit. Burning options were: write directly on disk (no intermediate image), use
burnproof, DVD speed 3x, leave the disk open.
It completed the burning succesfully (apparently), then it started calculating
the disk

This happened to me again. I was trying to kill disk usage analyzer
which stopped working.
I was able to get rid of the click on misbehaving app dialog after
killing metacity and gnome-panel. After this keyboard didn't respond any
more so i was forced to restart X.
